Let's gooo! It's time for another trip (However the first voyage for Night City Vinyl) on the high seas with Peter Zimmermann, the captain of the synthwave cruise! 'Through The Night' brings us 10 great tracks to fully support in dancing the night away. The main element of cohesion on this extremely well made vinyl release is "luxury". Everything from the above and beyond, ultra-thick jacket lamination, to the wonderful inner sleeves (that look better than many outer sleeves), to the record itself having a special gloss finishing, there is no doubt that this release is meant to look as good as it sounds! The music across the record is an exciting exploration of themes, as often seen with releases from Peter Zimmermann; and this time: it's dinner and dancing, it's dressing up in your finest because you can, it's an underscore of the feeling you get when you look good, and feel good! Tracks like "Fly Me to the Moon (1979 lift-off)" bring heat to the dancefloor via vocal based, grinding italo-disco elements, while "San Remo Popsicle" is an intrumental anthem that rewards you greatly in each and every transition. Peter Zimmermann does another excellent job reaching to the sacred corners of synthwave then packages it all up like only someone who cares (which he obviously does, in spades). Our favorite element is the ease in which the sound nods to the early contemporary synthwave movement, while serving it up fresh and modern, like French Laundry - via Germany! - JRY NCV
